Frequently Asked Questions

Each physiotherapy session begins with a detailed assessment to understand your condition, pain levels, and movement limitations. Based on your needs, treatment may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, joint mobilisations, and where appropriate, EMS integration. Our goal is to relieve pain, restore function, and guide you through safe, progressive recovery.

No referral is needed to begin physiotherapy at VitalFit. You can book an appointment directly with us. However, if you’ve recently had surgery or imaging (MRI, X-ray), bringing those reports can help us tailor your treatment more effectively.

Recovery time depends on the nature and severity of your condition. Acute injuries may improve within a few weeks, while chronic or post-surgical cases may require a longer plan. Our physiotherapists will outline a personalised treatment timeline after your initial assessment and regularly track your progress.

At VitalFit, our treatment protocols are grounded in up-to-date clinical research and guided by international best practices in physiotherapy and rehabilitation science. We don’t just follow trends — we study, apply, and contribute to the evolving field of musculoskeletal care.

Our founder, Alberto Velasco, has drawn upon global studies from the UK, Canada, Australia, the US, and Europe to design rehabilitation programs that integrate manual therapy, functional exercise, and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) for optimal outcomes.

From managing spine-related pain to treating complex sports injuries, every technique we use is backed by peer-reviewed data and tested in real-world elite performance environments.

Studies from the UK, US, Australia, and Canada have shown that Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) improves muscle activation, prevents atrophy, and accelerates healing in both post-surgical and chronic injury cases.

Manual therapy remains a cornerstone of physiotherapy. We use evidence-backed methods such as joint mobilisations, soft tissue release, and neurodynamic techniques that have been shown in systematic reviews to reduce pain, restore joint mobility, and enhance function.

We structure every treatment plan into three clinical phases: preparation, activation, and performance — aligned with research from global physiotherapy bodies. This allows for safe, progressive recovery and consistent monitoring of improvements in pain levels, range of motion, and muscle strength using validated tools like the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and SF-36.

Our founder’s experience in professional football clubs is enhanced by formal postgraduate training in rehabilitation and pathology. The protocols we use at VitalFit reflect elite-level clinical standards, now made accessible to everyone — from athletes to working professionals recovering from injury.

We don’t stop at current research — we actively engage in ongoing professional development, attending clinical workshops, rehabilitation seminars, and advanced EMS training courses. Our therapists stay aligned with the latest updates in sports medicine, neurorehabilitation, and physiotherapy science, ensuring that every technique used in your treatment is not only proven, but current.

VitalFit uses validated clinical outcome measures to track your rehabilitation journey — from your first session to full recovery. We monitor progress using tools like the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain, goniometric measurements for range of motion, and muscle performance tests to evaluate strength and function.
